Every new player who joins PourPlays this week starts with 5,000 points in their glass. It is the most generous the welcome ever gets, and it quietly melts a little every week. Here is how it works, and why sooner is always sweeter.

We wanted joining PourPlays to feel like being handed a glass the moment you walk in, not like filling out a form. So we did the simplest generous thing we could think of. Everyone who signs up this week gets 5,000 points, free, the day they create an account. No spend, no catch, no fine print you need a magnifying glass to read.

And 5,000 is not a token gesture. Points are how you build your cellar in PourPlays, and unlocking a real bottle into your collection costs 250 of them. So your welcome is a twenty-bottle head start: a shelf already stocked before you have played a single round. For the math-minded, it is also about a third of the largest points pack we offer, handed over for nothing.

The catch that isn’t a catch: it melts

Here is the playful part. The welcome does not sit still. Starting August 17 it steps down by a thousand points a week until it settles. The countdown looks like this:

Launch week, through August 16: 5,000 points
From August 17: 4,000 points
From August 24: 3,000 points
From August 31: 2,000 points
From September 7: 1,000 points

We did that on purpose, and not to be stingy. The earliest players are the ones taking a chance on something new, so they should get the warmest welcome. A number that shrinks also turns “I’ll get around to it” into “I should do this now,” which, if we are honest, is the nudge most of us need. And it keeps the whole thing sustainable: the biggest pour lands in the quietest week, then eases off as the room fills up. Big-hearted early, steady later.
